Rekka - the recent movie of Vijay Sethupathi released few weeks back has also become a success.
And infact there is a fact that if Lakshmi Menon acts in the movie, it is becoming a hit and has proved it once again.
The movie is directed by Rathina Siva, whose first movie 'Vaa Deal' is yet to release.
We should appreciate Vijay Sethupathi for offering and lifting a struggling director. Kudos!
The music is done by D.Imman.
The movie is all set in Kumbakonam and Madurai backgrounds.
Vijay sethupathi plays the role like the one of 'Madhavan' in run. It resembles very much from the scenes, fights, dressing sense and in fact the opening 'Virru Virru' song, which was not very pleasant to watch in the theatre and kind of irritating. They could have better avoided the song which these days fans are not preferring.
Other notable characters in the movie are director K.S.Ravikumar playing as the father of VS and comedian Sathish playing the friend role and actor Kishore playing a insane guy role.
The plot is all about the hero getting stuck between two villains-Harish Uthaman from Madurai and Kabir Singh at Coimbatore due to the marriage he performs by helping lovers, where in a case he gets involved in the marriage of Harish's fiancee which leads him to trouble in Vijay Sethupathis sister's marriage where he keeps a condition to kidnap minister's daughter Lakshmi Menon, who eventually just walks with VS when he calls due to some previous impressive incidents done by him. Yes these scenes were just like watching a Ramarajan movie released in 1990s.
And the director has given lot of fiery fight scenes to the hero.
The good thing in the movie is it has lot of sentiment scenes and strong flashback portion which is the only part of the movie which gets the audience get interest on the movie.
And as again the hero fighting against both the villains in the climax just reminds us of watching WWF shows eventually where the hero wins.
D.Imman's songs were ok ok type where it might be a hit in the rural areas but not elsewhere.
The tunes were reminding us of some old songs.
Still the movie has grossed good amount of money due to Dussehra release and has emerged as a hit.
Congratulations to the team!
