I watched NGK movie yesterday in Amazon Prime as the movie got uploaded in just 35 days since its release.
We already know the movie didn't become a Box Office Hit and one of the flop movies of Suriya.
In fact it is said as the biggest flop of Suriya so far.
It has a very strong cast with Suriya, Sai Pallavi as leads and Rakul Preet Singh as one of another important characters supported by Bala Singh,Ilavarasu, Nizhalgal Ravi, Uma Padmanabhan.
And Selvaraghavan has indeed has extracted good performances from almost everyone.
But the movie didn't match as equal to his earlier cult movies like Pudhupettai, Kadhal Konden,7G Rainbow Colony.
This became a half baked politics story where nothing was gripping and taking us involved into the movie. Suriya comes as a Organic Farming person suddenly venturing into politics as a normal guy ending up as Chief Minister of the State, which is so funny and unacceptable. We couldn't follow fully why the government is against Suriya and tries to kill him. We should appreciate Selva for mocking few of current scenario in Tamilnadu government.
The movie has very bad songs and weak dialogues and infact so difficult to watch the movie till its end.Yuvan's music also couldn't save the movie which is another minus.
This is a disappointing comeback movie for Selva after 6 years from Irandam Ulagam , where 2 of his other movies Mannavan Vanthanadi and Nenjam Marappathillai didn't get released so far.
We know Selva does good research and study before making a movie, that's the reason why we could enjoy so many of his movies.
Irandham Ulagam's flop and mixed reviews led him to such a delay.
We hope Selva comes with a good engaging movie soon and satisfy his fans, because he is one of the directors who has very good fan following.
Hope he gets recovered from his health issues after which we can expect a very good comeback movie from him.
